This man had no half siblings. Someone has merged a person from some other profile into this one. His parents were John Budd and Mary Horton and all his siblings are mentioned in his father’s 1684 will. The first John Budd in Southold died ca. 1673, the second died in 1684. This is the third one born 1658.‘’’. His great grand parents were john Budd and Katherine Butcher.

This John Budd b. 1658 is mentioned in his grandfather’s will. (See photo). he is the first John Budd of the Southold line born on this side of the Atlantic.

This 3rd John Budd was 26 when his father died and he helped in settling the estate. 1685/6 : Feb. 13 From the settlement of the estate of his father: Southold February ye 13th 1685/6 Then received by me John Budd of Southold, of John Tutthil Senr and Isaac Arnold of the Town aforesaid executors to the estate of Mr. John Budd late of Southold deceased, All that legacy bequeathed unto me by my honoured father Mr. John Budd according to the last will and testatment bearing date the 27th of October 1684 may at large appear. Also my full part and portion, out of the unwilled estate left by my father, to the sole disposeall and discretion of the executors aforesaid:--Also I doe more perticularly acknowledge to have received from the executors aforesaid full satisfaction for a tract of landleft unto

my father and in reversion unto me by my Grandfather Mr. John Budd of the Township of Rye, in the County of Fairfield Connecticute’’’ [1]

of all which legacys and bequests, and of which said sum and sums of money, and more particularly of said aforementioned tract of Lands, I the sd John Budd doe acquit and discharge the said executors and their heirs by these presents. John Budd’s sonne John born 14th Januarie 1658 - from Southold Town Records vol 1 p. 463. He was born just a few days after his father was accused of killing another man’s hogs. During a deposition Lt. John Budd stood up and proclaimed that he would not have his son thus abused. So on January 14Th 1658 there were three John Budds in Southold. And by 1687 there were 4 direct line John Budds. [[2]] The fourth one was John b. 1687, son of John and Hester Budd.

John Budd (b. 1658 -1708) sold land in Rye to Joseph Purdy in 1685 - RECORDED IN SOUTHAMPTON - lying and being upon the neck called Epawainos, bounded on the east by Blind Brook.

This 3rd John Budd Married Hester Evertse. Her father’s will is an online image at the Beinecke Library at Yale University.

appear on the 1698 Census of Southold. he had a lot to do with the settling of his father’s estate. In 1685 he gave a bond as guardian of his sister Sarah,.

The last we hear of him in southold Records is in 1705 When he is an appraiser for the estate of Nathaniel Sylvester of shelter Island. He is called “Mr. John Budd, dec’d” on May 21, 1708” in a deed John Youngs to David Parshall”. Southold Town Records, Vol 2, p. 426,427 Hester”s death is reported in 1727 and she is called widow.

Aug 2, 1685 • Southold, Suffolk, New York Gives Bond as Guardian of his sister Sarah Their father had died in 1684 And this John Budd helped in settling the estate. This is covered in Southold Town Records, Volume 2, pages 251-258. Sarah, Joseph, John, Mary (Budd) Youngs, Mary Budd the widow, Ann Budd, and Hannah Hart - all received bequests.

Listed in 1686 Census of Southold with 3 males, 4 females and 3 slaves in his family. [1][2]

One of his sisters ( probably Sarah) married a Homan. In 1697 John Budd made a deed to his sister, Mrs. Homan. John Homan was witness. 1697, same year, he made a deed to his sister Ann, wife of Benjamin Horton. [4]
