Biography

Ella was born in 1865, in Madison Co., Ala. She was the only child of John Buford and Sallie Hunt. Her father died before she was age two, and her mother married James Gordon Grayson in Sep 1867. She was with them on the 1870 and 1880 censuses.^[1]

She married Samuel Edward Layne (1859–1916) in Aug 1882 in Madison Co.^[2]

Ella passed away in 1929 in Owens Cross Roads, Madison Co.,^[3] and was buried there in Neal's Chapel Cemetery.^[4]
