He served as constable in 1727 and served as selectman of Sherborn for 15 years. He married Miriam Morse on December 30, 1721. He owned a farm of 185 acres, which he divided among his three sons, Benjamin, Samuel, and Peter, in his will that he made on February 12, 1762. His children included:[1]
