Source 1: Kelvin Bunner married Freda Helen Newton. They lived in Accra, Gold Coast Africa in the 1930s, then St. Catharines, Lucan, Alliston, Wiarton and Owen Sound. They had three children.

Source 5: William John Kelvin Bunner ("Kelvin"), born at Myrtle, Ontario, 15 September 1896, married at Sharon, Massachusetts, 19 November 1927, Freda Helen Newton, born 14 February 1904 at Henniker, New Hampshire, daughter of George Alfred and Lucy (Eastman) Newton. Kelvin and Freda were introduced to each other by Kel's sister Gladys Bunner at Bird Memorial Church and Community Center in Chicago, where both Gladys and Freda worked. Gladys and Freda had also both attended the School for Religious Education and Social Work at Boston University. Kelvin was a 1923 graduate of Ontario Agricultural College at Guelph, Ontario.

Kelvin and Freda spent several years in the Gold Coast (Ghana) following their marriage, where he taught agriculture at Achimota College, Accra. They came to Canada in 1931 and Kelvin taught high school science and agriculture at Thorold, Lucan, Whitby, Alliston and Wiarton, Ontario. He also operated a fruit farm from 1935 to 1942 near St. Catharines, Ontario. William Kelvin Bunner died at Owen Sound, Ontario, 25 May 1972. Freda died at Owen Sound 25 August 1985. Their graves are in a small hillside cemetery north of Owen Sound (14, 28).
