Lydia Ann Burdge was born in 1815.[1] She was the daughter of Joseph Burdge and Elizabeth Longstreet.[1] Lydia married Joseph C. Morris[1] about 1834.[2][3] Joseph and Lydia had at least 13 children.[4][3][5][6] Lydia is marked either maimed, disabled, or bedridden, etc. in the 1880 census.[7] The census taker also wrote that Lydia had chronic rheumatism.[7] One can only imagine how difficult daily life was for Lydia, yet she lived another 16 years after the 1880 census, dying on December 20, 1896 in Howell Township.[8] Lydia is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Farmingdale (Monmouth County), New Jersey.[9]
