"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 31, No 27, p 3, July 1, 1875.
In DeRuyter, Madison Co., June 15th, 1875, James Burdick, aged 65 years. The deceased was born in Plainfield, Otsego Co., N. Y., and one of thirteen children given to James R. and Martha Coon Burdick. His parents moved to Cuyler Hill (then Truxton) when he was two months old, where he resided till some three years since he located in this village. He early made a profession of religion and identified himself with the Seventh-day Baptist church in this town, of which he was a member at the time of his death. His sufferings were protracted for years, and toward the close of life were very severe, all of which he bore with patient resignation. His family, numerous kindred, and friends are comforted with the assurance that he rests with Jesus.
