Biography

Lambert was born in 1812. According to the 1810 U.S. census, his father Cornelis was living in German, Chenango, New York so perhaps this was where Lambert was born. He must have married Almira Cleveland around 1838, in New York. Their first child, Elizabeth, was born in 1839. Between 1840 and 1850, Lambert and his family moved from New York to China, St. Clair, Michigan. The 1850 census shows Lambert's occupation as blacksmith. His father was living with him and his occupation is shown as shoemaker. By 1860 Lambert is listed as a farmer in Casco, St. Clair, Michigan. Perhaps he still worked as a blacksmith since that was the occupation listed on his death certificate. Lambert died December 26, 1870, in Casco, Michigan.

The line of descent for 101. Lambert Roper Burgett is incorrect since we can see the father of Lambert, i.e., Cornelius, living with Lambert in 1850. Also on Lambert's Michigan death certificate his parents' names are listed as Cornelius and Hannah.
