Sarah (Burnett) Curry is part of a Bahamian family.
Biography
Sarah was born in March 1848 in the Bahamas.[1] Her parents have not been identified.
She married John Curry say 1866 in the Bahamas, possibly Green Turtle Cay.[2]
Sarah is probably the Sarah D. Curry who lived in the household of Samuel Cates with her probable son and daughter-in-law.[3] Her status was "friend," which is consistent with her situation. The head of household, Samuel Cates, would have been the father-in-law of her son and no blood relation to her. No further record of her has been found in Key West, though she probably died there during the ensuing decade.
↑ The date is estimated by guessing that she was eighteen when she married. The 1900 census stated that she had four children, all of them still living. Two are known from Bahamian records, with the oldest born in 1875. It is possible that there were older children.
