Dorothy K. Fossum, age 86, of Apple Valley, born November 12, 1928 in Minneapolis, died peacefully December 9, 2014 surrounded by family. Dorothy had a spirit that endured life's struggles and inspired her family and friends. She could light up a room with her quick wit, strength and sparkling smile. Dorothy leaves a legacy of family dedicated to her until the very end. Preceded in death by husband, Robert and brothers, Ray and Robert Burns. Survived by brother, Jerry (Jeannette) Burns; son, John (Julia) Fossum; daughters, Joan (Robert) Visnovec, Janean (Gale) Hulihan and Roberta Fossum; grandchildren, Ann, Julie, Melissa, Jenna, Jill, Jacqueline, Eric and Paolo. Also, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Much love and gratitude to Jenna and Dean Stockwell for providing hospice care. Thanks to Adam Stockwell and his friends for their gift of time and conversation brightening Gramma's last months. With love, devotion and dignity Gummie passed from our hands to Dad/Grandpa's arms. You will be in our hearts until we see you again. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 E. County Road 42, Burnsville, MN. Visitation 5-8pm Monday at White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Ave. and also one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. Memorials will be going to the MN. Law Enforcement Memorial Association. ^[1]
