DIED.

Pensacola Commercial (10/3/1882)

At his residence, in this city, of yellow fever, on Friday night at 12 o'clock, Edward Burns, in the 26th year of his age.
The subject of this brief notice was a Canadian by birth, but removed to this city about ten years ago. His manner of life, coupled with his genial disposition, won for him at once a host of friends, and the universal sentiment to-day is that our community has lost a nobleman.
The circumstances surrounding this death are sad in the extreme, as the deceased leaves behind a young and affectionate wife with an infant only a few days old. To the afflicted widow, and other members of the family, we offer our sincerest condolence, and may the God of love pour upon her the oil of consolation. The remains are buried in St. Michael's cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
We are requested by Mrs. Burns to extend to Mr. and Mrs. O'Hara, Mr. Phillip Lewis and others, who ministered to the wants of her husband, her heartfelt thanks.
