Biography

Adele T. Burnside was born to William Burnside and Anna Dawson on 21 Oct 1867 in Pennsylvania. She was the fifth of nine children: three boys and six girls.

In 1870 the family lived in Sunbury, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania^[1] and in 1880 the family lived at 532 Snyder Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.^[2]

Adele married William H. C. Moody on 1 Mar 1886 in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey.^[3] They had four children:

Harry B. Moody, born 13 May 1888^[4]

Edward S. Moody, born 2 Dec 1889^[5]

Adele Burnside Moody, born 20 Jan 1892

William B. Moody, born 8 Jul 1895

In 1900 the family lived at 29 South 46th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania next door to Adele's mother, sister Rita, and brother Donald.^[6] In 1910 they lived in Upper Darby, Delaware County, Philadelphia, 48 households away on the census from her brother Harry and sister Rita.^[7] In 1920 they lived back in Philadelphia at 758 Wynnewood Rd.^[8] Then they moved to East Goshen Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania.^[9][10] Her sister, Carrie, also lived in East Goshen for a time.

Adele died on 6 Nov 1940 in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania.^[11] She was buried at Oaklands Cemetery in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania on 9 Nov 1940.^[11][12]
