Biography
John was born circa 1838 in New Brunswick. He was a son of Isaac Burpee and Phoebe Elizabeth (Coburn) Burpee of Sheffield.
He joined the firm of I and F Burpee in Saint John, hardware merchants.[1]
John married Agnes Ferguson, daughter of Francis Ferguson of Saint John, on January 3, 1872 in Saint John.[2][3]
He passed away as the result of an accident in Boston in January 1884 at the Boston and Albany Railway Depot. He was interred in Saint John at the Fernhill Cemetery.[4][5][6]
