Biography
Lockwood was born on September 26, 1872 in York County, New Brunswick. He was a son of David Cowperthwaite Burpee and Rachel (Vandine) Burpee. His father was a mill worker.[1]
His mother passed away before he was nine. His father re-married.
He apprenticed as an electrician in Lynn City, Massachusetts where he moved in 1898 and was living in 1900 while living in a rooming house.
He married 21-year old Ada Gertrude Rogers on November 20, 1905 in Ottawa. She was a daughter of Thomas Rogers and Catherin (Clark) Rogers.[2]
They had one daughter in Canada before moving back to Lynn in 1906 where they lived until at least 1910.
Lockwood passed away on February 1, 1948 in Toronto, Ontario and was interred at there at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.[1]
