Birthdate mostly a guess, from Lacken
m. Sarah Flood, Feb. 1811 (daughter of Tyndal Flood; from Ballygub, Co. Kilkenny, was probably related to Francis Flood, husband of Dorcas B., cousin of Peter Burtchaell. Also two of her daughters would marry Floods from Ballygub, Co Kilkenny.)
Attested in George Dames B.
[Their issue, said to be prodigious, but strung from Kilkenny to New Jersey and westward, is difficult to report. Apart from some individual documents, the principle source is the descendant memory and documentation of Samuel Waters Burtchaell II, inherited from his father and perhaps grandfather, which in many verifiable details is inaccurate. The document exclaims of Peter Burtchaell and Sarah Flood, "They had 21 children!" and offers 14 names.]
Children ascribed but unable to verify include: Marie, Robert, Sarah, William, Sarah b. 1853, Mary/Marie b. 1855, Alice b. 1858, and Jennie b. 1859.
