James Burton, son of William Burton and Sarah (Huntington) Burton, was born in August 1868 in New York. He appeared on the census of 28 June 1880 in the home of his parents at Watervliet, Albany County, New York.[1]
He married May Ramsey Curtis, daughter of Daniel G. Curtis and Mary (Ramsey) Curtis, on 24 April 1895 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Albany, New York. HIs sister Margaret was a bridesmaid, his brother William was best man and his brother Edward was an usher.[2]
He was a physician when he and May appeared on the census of 1900 at Otsego, Otsego County, New York.[3] He was a physician in general practice when he and May appeared on the census of 13 January 1920 at Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.[4]
James died on 7 March 1927 at Los Angeles County, California.[5]
