Biography
Mary Ellen was born in 1862. She was the daughter of Robert Butcher and Mary Manning. She passed away in 1942.
1881 census aged 18, cook, domestic servant at St Johns Road Grammar School, March.
1891 census aged 28, with husband and child.
1901 census aged 38, with husband and child.
Part of a notice from The Cambridge Times 1st May 1942 - Death and Funeral, The death occurred on Friday of Mrs Mary Ellen Manchett, of 7 Badgeney Road, March, at the age of 79 years. She was the widow of Mr Thomas Manchett, who died about six years ago, and she had been ill about 18 months. Mrs Manchett had been a member of Providence Chapel for over 50 years and she was a very regular attendant. A daughter-in-law and a grandson are left to mourn.
