[1] The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864-1933) Saturday 22 August 1925 WEDDINGS. BUTLER-HOLLOWAY. The marriage of Mr Reuben V. Butler (youngest son of Mr James Butler, Long Valley, Dalveen) and Miss Alice Linel Holloway (eldest daughter of the late Mr H M Holloway and of Mrs Holloway, Dalveen, formerly of Roma) was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Warwick, on August 11. The Rev J. H. Heaton officiated. Miss Mildred Watt presided at the organ. The church had been artistically decorated, and posies of flowers, tied with loops of ribbon, adorned the pews reserved for the guests. The bride wore a smart French frock of white georgette, embroidered in silver crystal beads. Her embroidered veil, which was arranged in pleated fan effect at the back, was caught with a wreath of tiny orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of snow drops, white daffodils narcissi, and asparagus plumosus, which was the gift of the bridegroom. Misses Clarice Holloway (sister of the bride) and Eva Butler (sister of the bridegroom) who attended as bridesmaids were frocked in petal pink georgette, with side panels of knife-pleated georgette, caught with narrow sash belts of ribbon in shades of pink and blue, and tiny posies of georgette roses on the left shoulders. Their caps were of silver tricotine, lined with pink tulle, and arranged in fan shape at the front and finished with tulle rose buds and silver leaves. Miss Holloway carried a bouquet of daffodils, hyacinths and fern, and Miss Butler's bouquet was of pink stocks, white narcissi and fern. The bouquets were the gifts of the bride groom. Mr Dick Butler (Dalveen) carried out the duties of best man, and Mr Harry Pooley (Dalveen) acted as groomsman. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to Crossley's Crystal Palace Cafe, where the wedding breakfast was served. The long table was beautified with palms and Iceland poppies. The bride's mother received her guests in a beaded frock of black silk jersey, with a black silk beaver hat. Mr and Mrs R V Butler in future will reside in the Sliverwood district.
