Biography

Jeremiah was born on November 4, 1662 in Salem, Massachusetts. He was the son of Jeremiah Butman and Hester Lambert. ^[1]

The Will of Ann Pickton, of Beverly, dated 29th of December, 1677, mentions to William Cash, sen'r, to Jeremiah Butman. I appoint said Jeremiah Butman my executor, and he to pay his father Jeremiah Butman and his wife 25 pounds; the rest of the estate to be divided between the other four brothers, viz: Matthew, John, Joseph, and Benjamin Butman. I appoint John Galley and Henry Bayley and John Bennett.

An Inventory of the estate of Ann Pickton, who died on 25th of December, 1683, taken 19 of January, 1683-4, by Henry Bailey and Samuel Corning. Amount 110 pounds 2s 6d.

Ann PICKTON the Widdow of Thomas PICKTON Aged about 84 yrs, d. 25 Dec 1683 ^[5] He died in 1677 and his will was in probate in Essex, Massachusetts on 19 Oct 1677. ^{[6] [7]}

Note: Ann (Lambert) Pickton was a relative of Jeremiah Butman's wife Hester Lambert. She may have been her grandmother and then left her great-grandson's her estate.
