Susan Harriet was born in 1860 the daughter of Henry Butter and Susan Elisa O'Neal. She first appears on the 1870 census as a ten year old living with her parents and siblings in Spring Hill, Rapides, Louisiana. [1]
Susan Harriet married John Jackson Smith on 29 December 1886. [2]
In 1900 John and wife Susan H. Smith live in Spring Hill, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Susan has given birth to six children and all six are living. John's mother Delitha 53 is living with them. [3]
John and Susan Smith have five of their children still at home in 1910. They still reside in Spring Hill, Louisiana. [4]
She passed away on 18 April 1924 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. [5] She is buried in the Butters Cemetery, Forest Hill, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Her parents and most of her family are also buried there.[6]
