Biography

Pleasant was associated with the family of John Bybee, Jr., but he was not a son. He is not mentioned in John Jr.'s will nor in land transactions of John's children. John Bybee, Sr. had a son named Pleasant, who was named after a Quaker neighbor, Thomas Pleasants. from biography posted by Patricia Banks to Pleasant's Find A Grave profile.

He married Charity Hays 9 Aug 1809 in Barren County, Kentucky.[1]

The 1810 Census for Barren County, Kentucky gives Pleasant Biby's household with one adult male and one adult female and one female under age 5 (Juda or Judith, born 1810). [2]

The 1820 Census for Barren County, Kentucky shows four daughters born since 1810.[3]

In either 1827 or 1828, he moved, along with several members of the Allee Family, to Putnam County, Indiana.

In 1850 Pleasant and Charity and their children were living in Jefferson Township, Putnam, Indiana. Pleasant was age 66 b in Virginia. Charity was age 67, b in Virginia. Daughter Jemima Bybee was age 33 b Ky. Son William Bybee was age 30, b. Ky. He was a cabinet maker. Daughter Sarah Bybee was age 28 b Ky. William L Bybee was age 4 b Indiana. Sarah E Bybee was age 2 b Indiana. Andrew Douglas was age 28 b Kentucky.[4]

He died between the date of the 1860 Census (June 27) and the probate of his will on 7 Aug 1861.

Despite extensive research, his grave has not been located. He may have been buried on the family farm.
