Research Notes

A Della E. Byrd married Foster M. Dickey on April 18 1895 in Benton Co., TN. Is this our Idella?

Problem is, findagrave shows "Ella Byrd and Baby Byrd" as names on a plaque "In Memory of These Unmarked Graves" in Benton Co., TN. There was an Ella Byrd b. abt 1866 in Tennessee to Lewis and Henrietta Byrd. Lived in Shelby Co. TN in 1880.

In 1900, all 3 of her children were living.

In 1940, a granddaughter lived with her. Not clear who she belonged to: 17yo Mary Frances Dickey.

Although she had only a 6th-grade education, she put at least three of her children through college.
