"He was a banker in Dublin and London, He was was apostrophised by Swift.2 He was created 1st Baronet Cairnes, of Monaghan, in Ireland [Great Britain] on 6 May 1708, with a special remainder to his younger brother.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Monaghan [Ireland] between 1709 and 1727.2 He held the office of Keeper of Phoenix Park in 1712.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the Borough of Monaghan [Ireland] between 1727 and 1732.2 He lived at Monaghan, County Monaghan, IrelandG.[1]
