James was born about 1745.[1] He was the son of Aquilla Calkins and Desire Ackley. He married Phebe Unknown who died 2 Jul 1825, age 76, birth year (Estimated): 1749[2]
Children of this marriage include the following child. Of note, in the Mansfield, Connecticut vital records book, the children of their marriage are listed as "Children of James Calkins." [3] Their children include:
James Calkins died (age 86) on 3 January 1831, in Connecticut.[10][1] He is buried in old Storrs Cemetery in Storrs-Mansfield, Connecticut, and his burial can be viewed on FindAGrave: Find A Grave: Memorial #44037799

The James Calkins of this profile was born ca. 1745 in Hebron, CT;[1] died on 3 January 1831 in Manchester, CT;[1] and had a wife named Phebe whose surname was possibly Dunham.
The James Calkins referenced by the DAR and SAR was born ca. 1750;[11] died 8 March 1837 in Wilbraham, MA;[11] and had wives named Lucretia (Unknown) and Esther Cadwell.[11]
