Biography

Dicksie Estelle Callen was born on July 21, 1913, in Rifle, Colorado to Richard C. and Mary (Mansfield) Callen. She married Clarence J. Shortess Jr. on April 4, 1936, in Phillips County, Colorado. They were the parents of Nancy Leone (1939-2015) and Clarence J. Shortess III (1939-1946). She died on September 29, 1995, in Richland, Washington at the age of 82 and was buried in Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick, Washington.
