Obit from BR (Brookville newspaper?), 25 Feb 1903: BLANCHE C. ROSS Mrs. Blanche C. Ross, wife of Calvin Ross, died very suddenly at her home in Eldred township on Monday, February 9th, 1903. She was in her usual good health and good spirits and partook of a sumptuous supper with the other members of the family at 6:00 o'clock, and at 9:45 o'clock she was a corpse. Her death was so sudden and unexpected that it was a great shock to the community, and especially to her many loved ones. Dr. Brewer was speedily summoned, but his services were not needed, as her spirit had already taken its flight to the other world. The physician pronounced her death as being due to heart failure. Mrs. Ross' maiden name was Callen, and she is survived by her husband, four children, one sister and five brothers. In every position of life, the deceased was ever kind, loving and dutiful, and her death brings the most bitter sorrow to many aching hears. The remains were laid to rest in Mt. Tabor cemetery, Rev. Hicks, of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which the deceased was a member, conducting the funeral services.
