Michael Callen was an American AIDS activist and singer-songwriter. He was born on April 11, 1955 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. His parents were Clifford Callen and Barbara Walker. He grew up in Hamilton, Ohio, graduating from Taft High School in 1973. He graduated from Boston University in 1977. Michael was diagnosed with AIDS in 1982, and survived until December 27, 1993, dying at Midway Hospital in Los Angeles, California
