William Callis was born 4 Mar 1756 in Urbanna, Middlesex County, Virginia.
He served as a Major with the Virginia State Troops during the Revolution. He was also Lt, Capt, and Aide de Camp to General Nelson and Colonel Charles Dabney.[1]
