William, often known by his middle name Brua, was born in 1836. The 1850 census shows him at 24 with his father General Simon Cammeron (51) and mother Margaret (47). The rest appear to be siblings, but relationships were not specified in 1850. Spellings are as transcribed online.[1]

Major Brua Cameron died in 1864. According to FindAGrave he graduated from Princeton in 1847 and served as paymaster in the U.S. Army in the civil war. His profile there includes some possible references.[3]
