Biography

Marvin was born 06/20/1918 to Albert and Blanche (Collette) Campbell. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Miller 01/31/1946 in Marceline, MO. He dedicated 28 years to the Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He spent over 40 years in the banking industry, all with Bremer System, starting in Grafton, ND to Crookston and then to Brainerd. He was President of Brainerd Bremer Bank from 1971-1983 while managing a family of 12 children with his wife, Mary Lou. He was President of Minnesota Bankers Association, as well as being on the state college boards of St. Scholastica, CLC and U of M � Crookston. He loved to hunt, fish and golf, but he had a passion for serving his community and was recognized as the second Brainerd Citizen of the Year in 1975. He received an honorary doctorate from the College of St Scholastic in 1992. He was a member of many service organizations: Rotary, Moose Lodge, Elks, American Legion, and VFW. He was proud of his involvement with the Camp Confidence Board, Airport Commission, Blandin Foundation, Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel, St. Joseph�s Hospital Board, Brainerd Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Boy Scouts. Marvin will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou; his children, Greg (Heather) Campbell, Shane (Vicki) Campbell, Nevin (Maureen) Campbell, Marva (Chuck) Pearson, Michel (Dick) Tiedeman, Collette (Dick) Turcotte, Brad Campbell, Heather (Mike) Wedding, Reed (Sally) Campbell, Bride (Scott) Wiltse, Karen (John) Clark, and Doug (Renee) Campbell; 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley Schrom and Agnes Stans. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter. [1]
