Biography

William Alexander Campbell, son of Willis Campbell and Hannah (Painter) Campbell, was born on 16 Sep. 1847 in Albemarle, Virginia [1] He appeared on the census of 15 Nov. 1850 in the home of his mother at Nelson, Virginia.[2]

He married Mary Elizabeth Wood, daughter of Richard P. and Eliza A. Wood, on 10 Dec. 1867 at Nelson County, Virginia.[3][1]

William died on 12 Feb. 1919 of "Spanish Influenza" as written on his death certificate at Massies Mill, Nelson County, Virginia[3] and was buried at Jonesboro Cemetery, Jonesboro, Nelson County, Virginia. His memorial has photos, biographical material and links to those of family members.[1]
