Biography

Harriet was born in 1799 in Cape Town, South Africa. She was the daughter of Donald Campbell and Margaretha Hendrina van Reenen.^[1]

She married (presumably her cousin) Augustus Vanrenen at Midnapore, Bengal in 1819.^[2] They subsequently settled in Damdama and had 8 children:^[3]

She was widowed in 1836. It is not know whether she remained in India or returned to South Africa.

She passed away in 1878.
