Biography

William C. Capen was born in 1840 in Marysville New Brunswick, Canada, his father, Ebenezer, was 45 and his mother, Mary, was 41. He married Emily Earle "Emmie" Tibbits on November 24, 1863, in his hometown. They had nine children in 19 years. He died on May 5, 1896, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, at the age of 56.

Obituary ^[1] The Gleaner May 5 1896 Wm CAPEN died this morn. at his home in Marysville (York Co.) He was 56 years old and had been ill only a week with pneumonia which was the cause of his death. His wife died some time ago. Seven daughters (sic) and two daughters survive him. The funeral will take place Thursday 2 o'clock. Undertaker John G. Adams will have charge of the arrangements.
