Jane (Carbery) Thomas was born in Ireland.

Jane was born about 1836. She was born in Ireland, the daughter of John Carbery. She emigrated on or before 1855, when she was living in the house of her kinsman James Carbery. In the 1855 census Jane (age 17) was in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States.^{[1] [2]}As James, his brothers and mother were born in County Tyrone, it seems reasonable that Jane Carbery was also born in County Tyrone.

Jane (age 17), child of John Carbrey, married Miles Flood on 6 January 1856 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.^{[3] [4]}Miles's sister was married to James Carbery who was one of the witnesses at Jane's wedding. The other witness was Sarah Carbery, who may have been James's daughter Sarah E. (Carbrey) Hamilton (1836-1872).

In the 1865 census Jane (age 27) was recorded as married to Miles Flood in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States.^[5]

In 1859, the Floods had a daughter named Mary Jane (named after her paternal grandmother and her mother), who died in infancy.^[6]

After living some time in the Boston area, Miles and Jane Flood moved back to Miles's hometown of Jefferson, Lincoln, Maine. In the 1880 census Jane (age 40), Keeping House, was the wife of Miles Flood in Jefferson, Lincoln, Maine, United States.^[7]They farmed there until Miles's death in 1895.

Jane Flood, widow of Miles R. Flood, was in a directory in 1898 and again in 1899 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.^[8][9]Jane's mother Jane Philips Carbery (Carberry) was boarding in the same location.^[10]

After her mother's death in March, 1900, Jane then moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where she lived with Miles's niece Isabelle (Carbrey) Hayes and Isabelle's husband Thomas Hayes. In the 1900 census Jane (age 63) was the widowed aunt of Thomas Hayes in Pawtucket Ward 4, Providence, Rhode Island.^{[11] [12]}

Jane married William Thomas on 7 November 1902 in North Whitefield, Maine, United States. This town is adjacent to Jefferson, Maine, where Jane had lived with her first husband until his death.^[13][14]

Jane, daughter of John Corbory {sic} & Jane Phillips, wife of William Thomas, died (age 69) on 30 April 1907 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, United States.^[15]
