John Carder, III was born February 15, 1744, in Warwick, Rhode Island. During the American Revolutionary War, John was residing in Killingly, Connecticut, where enlisted as a Private in Captain Ephraim Warren's company of the 11th Regiment of the Connecticut Militia. [1] (see notes)
John was the son of John Carder, II and Mary Westgeate. [2] (see notes) In 1768, in Providence, Rhode Island, John Carder married Hannah Carver. [3] Hannah Carver is the daughter of Joseph Carver and Sarah Hartwell. [4]
John and Hannah are found in the birth records for their daughter, Sarah Carder, who was born June 1, 1775, in Killingly, Windham county, Connecticut. [5]
Captain Ephraim marched 'for the relief of Boston, Massachusetts in the Lexington alarm' of April 1775, and was in service seven days.
