One source erroneously states that Thomas was a son of Thomas Carleton and Isabelle (Mark) Carleton.[4] In fact, the Thomas Carleton who was the son of Thomas and Isabel was Thomas's uncle Thomas Carleton Jr. (1672-aft.1711).
Thomas married Hannah Roberts "on the 3rd month 20, 1730 [20 MAY 1730]; widow of Robert Roberts, and daughter of William Howell, of Haverford. She was born 5 mon 17, 1689 and died 5 mon 6, 1758. Source discusses the children of Mark and Susanna Carleton and their movements from England to Ireland and their children and associated marriages. [5]
This source is a very descriptive history of the Early Irish Quakers in Pennsylvania and their MM locations in the late 1600's and 1700's. In it is also the signature of one Thomas Carleton, who was said to be "one of the most eminent ministers of this meeting [Kennett] was Thomas Carleton, a native of King's County, Ireland." [6]
