The Australian Marriage Index at Ancestry gives her father's name as Richard William Carlier. Richard William died on 11 May 1883 aged 44.[1].
Ruth Carlier was born at Saddleworth near Gawler in South Australia. She married firstly Robert Samuel Gully on 2 February 1887 at the residence of J Foster at Hackney a suburb of Adelaide South Australia and when Robert died She married for the Second time to Walter Henry Walpole in 1924.
Buried on 30 March 1924 in West Terrace Cemetery. Location Flinders, Path Number 5, E/W W, Site number 3.
