Biography
Dean Carlton was born on 12 Jul 1739 in Bradford, Essex, Massachusetts to Nathan Carlton and Abigail Dean. He married Keziah about 1764. Children: Dean, Abigail, George, Phoebe, Willard, Jonathan1, Tirzah, (Roswell, Timothy), Willard, Polly, Betsey, and Jonathan2. He died in 1812 in Charlestown, Cheshire, New Hampshire (probate of estate 1812). The suggested children Timothy and Roswell are not named in the will suggesting they either died without heirs oar are not children in this family.
In his will written 11 Sep 1810 (probate 1812), Dean Carleton of Charlestown, New Hampshire made bequest to the following persons: wife Ruth (his second wife), son Dean Carleton, eldest daughter Abigail Orcutt wife of William Orcutt, third daughter Tirzah West wife of Presby West, second son George Carleton, third son Willard Carleton, fourth daughter Polly wife of Andrew Woodbury, fifth daughter Betsey wife of John Barney, fourth son Jonathan Carleton, and grandson Royal West son of late daughter Phebe West. Willard Carleton was named executor.[1]
