Patrick John CARMODY was born on 23 March 1918 in Colac, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Thomas Joseph Carmody and Margaret Goonan. ^[1].

CLAYTON— CARMODY. — The engagement is announced of Maureen Valda, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clayton, of 175 Bell-street, Preston East, to Patrick John, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs T. J. Carmody. of Coragulac, via Colac.

6 November 1941, Patrick enlisted in the Australian Army; Service Number: V165083. He was assigned to 3 Australian Motor Regiment, attained the rank of Trooper and was discharged on 17 September 1942^[3][4].

Maureen Valda CLAYTON and Patrick John CARMODY were married in 1942 in Victoria, Australia. (Dated 16 Feb 1942 in service record.)^[5].
