Wm. Jackson Carner
W.J. Carner, passed away at the Princeton hospital, April 1, following several days illness. William Jackson Carner, son of late Friend and Paulina Carner, was born in Bethany community, Caldwell County, April 23, 1857,and had resided in and near Princeton for the past several years. He was married to the former Miss Martha Hubbard who preceded him to the grave nineteen years ago. For several years he had made his home with a sister Miss Necie Carner, near the city limits.
Mr. Carner was a quiet, good natured, gentleman and leaves many friends who will miss his pleasant conversation and associations. He followed the farming interest until he retired from active duties several years ago.
Surviving are two sisters and a brother. Miss Necie Carner, Mrs. Mary Williamson both of this place and Jim Carner, aged ninety-one, of Detroit, Michigan, also several devoted nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was from Morgan Funeral Homes. Sunday, with the Rev. D.G. Schofield in charge, burial was in Perry cemetery, north of Princeton.
