The funeral of the late Mrs. Catherine Mary Laing took place on Sunday morning. Deceased, who was born in the Trunkey district, had resided there all her life. She is survived by her husband, John Laing, and two daughters, Anne and Aileen, and five sons, Stanley, Vincent, John, Clement and Francis all of Trunkey. Interment in the Catholic portion of the Bathurst cemetery was made, the Rev. Fr. Shannon conducting the service before a large gathering of relatives and friends. Many floral tributes were received. The pallbearers were four sons of deceased, Vin, John, Clem and Frank. Mr. Stan McGuinn had charge of funeral arrangements. [1]
