Henry Carter may have been born about 1818 in Turners Hill, West Sussex, the son of George Carter. An alternative birth year is about 1821, based on his marriage being at age 19.[1]
According to his death certificate, Henry came to New South Wales in about 1838 (born England, 44 years in N.S.Wales).[1]
Henry married Maria Moon at Wollongong on the 6th of December, 1840.[2][3][4]
Henry died at the Sydney Hospital on the 13th of April, 1882, from 'spinal paralysis.'[1] He was buried the following day in the Church of England portion of Rookwood Cemetery.[5][6]
Research Notes
Some unsourced family trees give his mother as Isabella Reakes, cannot find any supporting evidence for this. Watson-15643 08:21, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Need to find supporting evidence for the Turner's Hill birth place and year.
