Biography
William T Carter was born February 9, 1817, a son of Thomas Carter and Nancy Hutchins aka Hutchings. In 1857, William married Frances W. Oglesby, born January 24, 1819, in Bedford county, Virginia, a daughter of William Oglesby and Mary Sharp, and widow of John H. Wingfield, who died in 1849, in Albemarle county, Virginia. Frances brought at least four children to the marriage.
William and Frances moved with his siblings and his father to St Charles, Missouri. William died January 2, 1900, in Wright City, Warren county, Missouri and is buried in the Wright City Cemetery. There are memorials for two daughters, Rosa Constance Carter and Rosa Lee Carter, attached to his Find A Grave memorial. [1]
