1880 United State Census shows the family in Alabama. George W. Cartwright [[Cartwright-1845 age 39, and Mary Elizabeth Meadows [[Meadows-1743 age 33 along with their children. Thomas A. [[Cartwright-1844 age 9, Dora [[Cartwright-1831 age 6, Robert [[Cartwright-1872 age 2. Also in the home was Mary Elizabeth's brother Isasus M Meadows [[Meadows-2008 age 23, working farm, and another.

1900 Census shows Dora Essa age 25, [[Cartwright-1831 in household of William Bandy age 31, [[Bandy-859 in Justice Precinct 3, Bandera, Texas. The family consisted of Thomas son, age 8, Flora daughter, age 6, Robert son, age 3, Hazel daughter age 5-6 months, and Dora's brother Robert Cartwright age 22. Dora's husband Willian was a Stockman on a Farm.

1910 Dora [[Cartwright-1831 was the head of the household residing in Precinct 1, Edwards Texas, she was 33. Her family consisted of Herber S. Son, age 16, Flora daughter, age 15, Haskel Son, age 13, Hazel daughter, age 10, Willie Son, age 4 and Clara daughter, age 1.

1919 Dora, Widowed Migrated her family to Selma, Fresno, California, United States.

1930 Dora Essa [[Cartwright-1831 was residing in the home of her daughter in law, Maribell Bandy, along with her 5 year old son Bobby B. Bandy. Dora's daughter Clara E. Bandy was 21 and living with them, along with 13 lodgers in Hanford, Kings County, California, United States.
