Biography

James Cartwright was born ca 1829 in Stockport, Cheshire, England. He was the son of John Cartwright and Sarah Linney (1803-)

He married Mary Welsh (1831-1908) on August 19, 1850 in St Michael, Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England.^[1] They had 7 children.

4. Sarah Cartwright (1864-1944)^[2]
5. James William Cartwright (1866-1908)^[2]

They lived in Oldham, Lancashire in 1881 where James was a Broker in Furniture, with Wife Mary, and children, Emma-23, Ann-21, Sarah-17, James-14, Mary-13 and Agnes-9, in the home.^[2]

In 1901 he was a Broker of general Goods, in Oldham.^[3]

He died December 1911, in Lancashire, England.^[4]
