  • James' descendant (relationship not yet established) "Samuel Cary graduated Harvard College in 1731, and on December 24, 1741, he married Margaret Graves, the twenty-two-year-old daughter of Thomas Graves and Sybil Foster Avery from Charlestown, a village that Margaret's grandfather, Thomas Graves, had settled in 1629... Captain Cary was often away at sea, for intervals up to six years..." Their son Samuel was born 20 Sep 1742.[3]

Hello, I'm working on connecting him to his descendant, Samuel Cary and his family. There is an interesting 2018 biography based on their letters. Let me know if you have any concerns, but the scholarship seems sound.

Given his 1639 marriage, do you know whether he is included in the Great Migration Directory?
