Ciro Castro is born around 1770-72 in Corleone, the son of Onofrio Castro and Francesca Cilebba.
His parents are both living in 1804, when Ciro's brother, Francesco marries.
Ciro marries Rosaria Cannella on 5 October 1806. His parents have died by this time.
Ciro and Rosalia have at least eight children: Francesca (1807), two daughters named Margherita (1809 and 1810), two sons named Onofrio (1812 and 1821) two daughters named Carmela (1814 and 1816), and Bernarda (1819).
In 1807, Ciro, 35 (b. 1772), is living with his wife Rosaria, 26 (b. 1781), and his sister, Vincenza, 33 (b. 1774), near the Cortile Pellegrino (cortile is "courtyard"), in Corleone.
Also living near the Cortile Pellegrino are Liborio Colletto, 28, with his older sisters and widowed mother. Vincenza marries Liborio Colletto the same year.
Ciro and Rosalia's first child, Francesca, is born nine months after her parents marry, on 16 July 1807, and baptized the next day, named after her paternal grandmother, as is traditional for the first born daughter. Her godparents are Maestro Leoluca and Benedetta Canzoneri, father and daughter.
The first daughter named Margherita is born and baptized on 29 January 1809, named after her maternal grandmother. Her godparents are Vincenzo and Venera Labruzzo, a married couple.
She dies on 17 September 1809 at eight months of age.
The second daughter named Margherita is born and baptized on 26 November 1810. Her godparents are Don Giuseppe and Donna Maria Ninfa Marsalisi, a married couple.
The first son named Onofrio, after his paternal grandfather, is born 20 December 1812 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Biagio and Bernarda Ficcuri, a married couple.
The first daughter named Carmela is born 19 October 1814 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Lorenzo and Salvatrice Cannella, a married couple.
Onofrio dies, reportedly at four years of age (he is three) on 18 May 1816.
Carmela dies on 24 May 1816 at a year and seven months of age.
The second daughter named Carmela is born two months later, on 7 August, and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Paolo and Anna Pennino, son and mother.
Bernarda is born and baptized on 7 January 1819. Her godparents are Bernardo and Caterina Colletto, brother and sister.
The second son named Onofrio is born and baptized on 10 February 1821. His godparents are Giuseppe Maringo and Giovanna di Gregorio, who are not married.
Francesca marries twice, first to Giovanni Cataudo, a widower, on 13 February 1825. Ciro and Rosaria are both still living.
Death of Ciro
Ciro dies at age 62 (b. 1770) on 9 January 1833. His wife, Rosaria, survives him.
Margherita marries Giuseppe Colletti later that year, on 3 November.[1]
Carmela marries Vincenzo Maniscalco on 18 November 1838.
Francesca marries for the second time, to Pietro Birtone, on 21 February 1841.
Rosaria dies at age 70 (b. 1775) on 14 March 1845. The record of her death calls her Rosalia and gives the names of her parents.
Bernarda marries Antonino Pirricone on 8 February 1846.
Onofrio marries Giuseppa Mangiameli on 3 February 1850.
Margherita dies at age 43 on 2 September 1853, survived by her husband.
Onofrio dies on 31 May 1857. His age at death is not given: he is 36 years old. He is survived by his wife, Giuseppa.
Francesca dies at age 60 (b. 1807) on 31 July 1867. She is survived by her second husband. Her first marriage is not mentioned in the record of her death.
Carmela and Vincenzo have at least eight children. Vincenzo dies in the hospital in 1879, and Carmela survives him. Carmela dies in the hospital at age 79, on 9 October 1896.
Bernarda dies at age 79 (b. 1819) on 9 August 1898, the widow of Antonino.
