Family Story

Based on the Census, it appears that Alice was her stepmother and her mother was Minneapolis Sloan. She's listed twice in the 1920 Census, with each of her parents.

Story from Madeline Hamilton- When Wade Withrow died he had started her a house but it was not finished. Granddaddy (Russell her first husband) and Dad (her son) finished the house so she could live in it. Instead she sold the house and moved to California with Aunt Dottie, She blew the money Aunt Dottie kicked her out and that is when she came to live with us.

My Mom Hated her. She said she was mean to us (her grandchildren). However she was my Dads Mother and he felt she should live with us when she was kicked out by Dottie one of her children. She named my sister Saudia because Bertha said that no grandchild of hers was going to be named that. It must have been a hell of a house to live in when she stayed with us, glad I dont remember any of it.
