Minnie and Bill’s only son, Leslie enlisted in the Australian Army in 1941 and, as S47595, became a Private in the 25th Garrison Battalion.
He did not see active service, but one of his duties was to guard prisoners-of-war.
In civilian life, Les was a clerk and then Secretary of the Australian Wheat Board. He also worked, for a time, in the Woods and Forests Department.
Les did not marry.
