Biography

Jeremiah Cates was born in 1831 in Tennessee to Ezra Cates and Sarah Higgs.[1]

According to the 1850 census, Jeremiah lived with his parents and siblings in Clark County, Arkansas.[1]

On January 20, 1859, Jeremiah married Amanda Woods in Clark County, Arkansas.[2]

According to the 1860 census, Jeremiah lived with Amanda and their children, William and Sarah, in Clark County, Arkansas.[3]

Jeremiah died around 1862. Letters of Administration were issued to his estate on November 7, 1865.[4]
