This is the profile manager - don't cite findagrave for a non-existent gravesite when there are far better sources."" The proof of the 1788 date was already on this page - his family Bible, see below, AND the 1860 census states that he was 72. Findagrave has no photo of a grave marker because as far as we know his burial spot is unmarked, and the cemetery lost.
Noah was born in 1788[1] in Rowan County, NC. He passed away before 15 Dec 1865, when Sylvester Fuller, his son-in-law, posted a bond for the fair administration of his estate, [2].
Noah married twice, first to his first cousin Jemima Caton, daughter of George Dent Caton and Nancy Hurley. They were married in Mercer County, KY after the 16th of October 1808 consent date, and before the birth of Lourenda on the 3rd of January 1809.[3][4]
There is no record of a divorce for Noah and Jemima. The 2.5 month gap between the marriage bond date and the birthdate of Lourinda suggests that Noah may have been persuaded to marry her to keep her from bearing a child out of wedlock. The Noah & Fannie Caton Bible never mentions his other family, and the only other record besides the marriage bond is an 1875 court case brought by the children of Jemina Caton long after the 1869 administration of Noah's estate. Noah left his cousin wife in Kentucky when he joined the military in 1812, and apparently never went back. Kentucky and Missouri were not that close and Noah fathered numerous children in Missouri. Jemima had other children, including a son born after 1815 whose death certificate years later had Noah Caton as his father. He was not a part of the 1879 court case referenced below.
Noah's second marriage was to Frances McDermid, in St Charles Co, MO, 24 Nov 1814. [6]
Noah was born to Jesse and Ester Sparks Caton in 1788 either in NC or Kentucky. Jesse & Ester moved to Kentucky sometime between the Dec 1787 deed that Jesse witnessed in NC and the 1789 Kentucky tax list that lists Jesse as a taxpayer in Fayette County (basically all of Kentucky) Noah Cayton and a hash mark in the appropriate column for his first wife Jemima & Lourinda were in the Lincoln Co, KY census of 1810.
In 1812 Noah left both Jemima and Kentucky for Missouri. He was a private in Captain Boone's militia during the War of 1812 [7] Louis Houck's "A History of Missouri" [Chicago: R R Donnelley & Sons Company 1908] pps 137-138 states that he was living in Fort Kinkead in 1814. Noah Caton and Fanny McDermid's marriage bond, dated Nov 1814, was signed in St Charles Co, MO. The young family remained in St Charles County for several years. Noah is listed in the 1817 tax list for Femme Osage Twp, St Charles Co along with Jonas and Jesse Caton, and his father- or brother-in-law Hugh McDermid. [8] Two years later, in 1819, Jonas and Noah are in Montgomery County, MO, in another tax list, along with Daniel Boone and Flanders Callaway. [4]
Regarding Findagrave Memorial # 44363923. There is no confirming gravestone and the grave's location is unknown. Noah is believed to have been buried on his farm, and the farm's well was found and photographed by several Caton family members in the late 20th C, but no graves were found in the area.

Noah Catan Bible.pdf received from Nancy Carroll Thompson, historian in Vernon Co, Missouri - starts with the births of Noah (1788!) and Fannie (1798) and continues with the births of all their children in the same hand. On page 2 are the births of the children of Christopher Pittman Caton, in the same hand, but changing over time. Likely a Bible received as a marriage present from father Noah to son Christopher.
